NetBurner SBL2e Devices network-enable serial, analog, or digital I/O devices out of the box - no programming or development is required. The included virtual COM port Windows utility enables you to easily access serial devices located on a remote NetBurner device as if they were plugged into your own computer. The hardware is pre-programmed to convert your serial data to Ethernet, enabling communication with the serial device over a network or the Internet.

The NetBurner Single Chip platform is an extremely cost effective platform for simple applications, but this comes at a cost in features and development time. Unlike the standard NNDK applications where one can expect to add significant features to the examples, the factory application and bundled examples are close to the limit of what can be done with the platform. You can modify the applications, but if you add features also expect to remove features. See table below to determine whether or not the SBL2e will be the most cost effective device for your application.
